The Lumos Smart Device is a ruggedized tablet that can be fitted internally or externally to teaching rooms. The secure device holders are easily modified to suit your requirements and branding.
Lumos will operate using our proprietary devices, and with approved retail devices. This gives you the flexibility to purchase your own supported retail tablet, or select a device that we will supply and fit for you. This flexibility allows you to choose a solution that suits your budget.
The Lumos Smart Device, and approved retail tablets, allow you to deliver content, and allow users to interact with the system, across a network using Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
Deployment Scenarios
Imagine walking down a corridor and readily seeing an available room. Do you need to book it for that student one-to-one? Then just select the booking app and swipe your staff card. If you have the necessary access rights, you can easily make the booking from the device. With that information now captured even your room utilisation figures will reflect such bookings accurately.
A student is heading for his class. He swipes his card against the device to record his attendance. The room has changed in the timetable… No problem… the device rejects his card swipe and advises him of the new venue.
Forgotten where your next class is? In any corridor or room fitted with a Lumos Smart Device simply select the timetable app, swipe your card or present your fingerprint, up pops your personal timetable indicating exactly where you should be.
